A gate that opens where the kick would hit, wired straight into a ping-pong delay that rings through the closures. Hold a chord and it comes back chopped, bouncing, and talking. There's no LFO anywhere in it — start on one of 30 presets, then click the strip and move the hits wherever you want them.
Put a noise gate on a sustained part, sidechain it to a kick, and legato playing turns staccato — the note only survives where the drum would have landed. Then hang a ping-pong delay off the back of it. That chain is the whole reason this pedal exists, and nobody sells it pre-wired. Morse does, with the gate in front and the delay behind, so the repeats keep ringing through the moments the gate is shut.
Thirty whole-pedal snapshots, every one written by hand — the gate pattern, SMOOTH, swing, both delay divisions, feedback, colour, the three ghosts and the per-side volumes. The patterns sit where a kick would: boom bap, halftime, trap knock, Dilla drag, and on. They're gate windows, not drum hits, so what you hear is your own sound punched into that rhythm.
One knob rounds the gate's edges from a hard chop to a soft breath. All the way down it stutters; all the way up it swells. No attack, no hold, no release, no envelope page — the whole feel of the gate lives on one knob, with SWING next to it to drag the offbeats.
The step strip isn't a readout, it's the pattern. Click a slot to turn a hit on or off, drag one sideways to slide it (land on an occupied slot and the two swap, so nothing gets lost). 32 columns on a 1/32 grid with beat separators, and clearing the last hit drops you straight back to the preset you started from.
The input sums to mono, hits the left tap, and bounces L → R → L a delay-time apart. A band filter sits inside the feedback loop, so every repeat narrows a little more — the classic rings-out-and-thins tail rather than a copy that just gets quieter.
LEFT and RIGHT take their own note value from twelve divisions — triplet, straight and dotted across 1/16 through 1/2 — grouped the way your DAW groups them. Set them the same for a straight bounce, or unequal for the lopsided pattern nobody can quite tap out.
VEIL is a tone-and-wobble filter you drag anywhere on the radar. KEEN throws picked repeats an octave off. HOLLOW drops their formants seven semitones so the tail answers in a lower throat. Each one is a ghost you grab and move, with its own little rocker switch beside it, and at rest they're silent.
The gate rides your DAW's tempo, and free-runs at 90 BPM when the transport is stopped so the pedal still breathes while you noodle. Switch SYNC off and the two time faders leave the grid entirely — 30 ms to a second and a half, where the flams and the slapbacks live.
Run the delay first and the gate chops the repeats into the same rhythm as everything else, which is tidy and dull. Run it the way Morse does and the delay is fed only the fragments that made it through — then it keeps ringing while the gate is closed, so the tail fills the silence the rhythm just made. That's the part you can't patch after the fact with a stock gate and a stock delay unless you know to put them in this order.
VST3 / AU · drop it on any track in your DAW.
Morse is $49.99, one time, yours forever. Or take the whole Ghost Audio catalog for $149.99 ($99.99 while we're in launch). No subscriptions, no fake sales.
AU + VST3 — drop it on a track and go. If your DAW loads plugins, it loads this one.

Any DAW that loads VST3 or AU: Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper, Bitwig, and more. Not Pro Tools: Pro Tools only loads AAX plugins, and we do not make an AAX build.
Yes — at launch, every paid pedal gets a free 10-day demo that's the full plugin, not a crippled teaser. Join the list below and you'll get it first.
No dongles, no always-online check. Install it on any computer you work on.
Yes. The step strip is the editor. Click any slot to toggle a hit on or off, or drag a hit sideways to move it — drop it on an occupied slot and the two trade places. The 30 presets are starting points, not a locked list, and if you clear every hit the strip falls back to the pattern the preset came with.
Draggable effects that live on the radar instead of on knobs. VEIL is a tone-and-wobble filter across the whole signal. KEEN pushes picked repeats an octave off. HOLLOW drops their formants seven semitones. Park a ghost at rest and it does nothing; drag it out and it starts working.
Try the free 10-day demo first — it's the full plugin, so you can hear exactly what you're buying. All sales are final after that, and if something's ever broken on our end, we'll make it right.
